Windows 7 Vs Windows 8.1 and my opinion about this two.

Hello and welcome to a new post, in this post I will tell you my opinion about windows 7 and 8 and I will tell you something about these.
I think windows 7 is better than windows 8 because it works easier, but this is my opinion, some people say windows 8 is better than windows 7.

In October 2008, it was announced that Windows 7 would also be the official name of the operating system. There has been some confusion over naming the product Windows 7, while versioning it as 6.1 to indicate its similar build to Vista and increase compatibility with applications that only check major version numbers, similar to Windows 2000 and Windows XP both having 5.x version numbers. The first external release to select Microsoft partners came in January 2008 with Milestone 1, build 6519. Speaking about Windows 7 on October 16, 2008, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer confirmed compatibility between Windows Vista and Windows 7, indicating that Windows 7 would be a refined version of Windows Vista.

On August 1, 2012, Windows 8 (build 9200) was released to manufacturing with the build number 6.2.9200.16384 . Microsoft planned to hold a launch event on October 25, 2012 and release Windows 8 for general availability on the next day. However, only a day after its release to manufacturing, a copy of the final version of Windows 8 Enterprise N (a version for European markets lacking bundled media players to comply with a court ruling) leaked online, followed by leaks of the final versions of Windows 8 Pro and Enterprise a few days later. On August 15, 2012, Windows 8 was made available to download for MSDN and TechNet subscribers. Windows 8 was made available to Software Assurance customers on August 16, 2012. Windows 8 was made available for students with a DreamSpark Premium  subscription on August 22, 2012, earlier than advertised.

This was my post about windows 7 and windows 8, I hope you have enjoyed and I hope you will read my next post.

Hackintosh computers

Hey guys and welcome at another post, today I want to talk about Hackintosh computers, so lets get started.

I know a lot of people that want to own a Mac, but just can't afford one, and so I often get the question: Is there a way to run OS X on your average Windows pc. And there is. I made a Hackintosh computer using Niresh, it was a Dell Dimension from 2006 and it ran terrible, it was sluggish and slow. But if you've got a more powerful pc, I'm sure it will be able to run OS X Mavericks at least.

I had some more problems with my installation, I had to download the GPU drivers, because the resolution was all stretched out, and it looked terrible. At a point the mouse stopped working, it wouldn't open documents, and it showed a lot of error messages. I'm sure that I just had to install the drivers, but OS X doesn't support a lot of graphics cards so if you have the wrong graphics card and there aren't any drivers for it its pretty much useless. So of you want to run OS X on your pc, make sure that all the hardware is supported by OS X, and that your pc is powerful enough to run a supported version of OS X (minimal OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard)

One thing is still unclear for me. A lot of people that asked me to put OS X on their pc's had a Core 2 Duo processor in it, and with a similar GPU as in the 2006-2008 MacBooks. And you can find those computers on eBay very cheaply so why are they trying to put OS X on an old pc, when you can just buy a MacBook for 250 dollars. If you need the specs of a Mac Pro, but just can't afford a Mac Pro I can see why you want to make a Macintosh. And if you've got an old Macintosh case, for example the PowerMac G3, and want to put modern hardware in it I understand why you want a Hackintosh as well. But for people that are using older hardware, like a Core 2 Duo processor, an older motherboard, and GPU I can't see the point.

So if you want to build a Hackintosh computer, and you know what you are doing, its fine and everything should run well, but do your research before you start building your Hackintosh. But for the people that are using older computers I highly recommend getting a MacBook or Mac Mini from eBay, or buy another pc, so you can experiment with your old one. If your building a Hackintosh right know, good luck and let me know in the comments, because I want to do it as well at some point, but then using a PowerMac G4, or G5 case. The only downside of this, is the case modding if you want more information about a Hackintosh in a G4 case, visit the YouTube channel: ItsMyNaturalColour.

Mac Mini Project part 3

Hello guys, and welcome at another post, today I want to continue to talk about my Mac Mini project. I recommend reading the first two parts before this one.

I need to do a lot of research still because I want to let the server run perfectly. I was thinking of putting it in an Antec case, but I think I'm going to do something else. I want to build a shelve for my server, with nice cable management, a lot of storage for my music and movies and other important files. So I'm going to buy a shelve, and put the Mini on it with the hard drives. I think I am going to daisy chain the hard drives using Firewire so I'm just taking one USB port, and keep the other one free. The hard drives are going on the same shelves next to the Mac Mini, with the cables nicely hidden.

I was thinking about using screenshare with my MacBook, because I have another VGA port free on my computer. So I think I'm just to use it like that because its a lot easier. But then there is the keyboard and mouse problem, and I've already got an idea for that. I'm going to buy a cheaper Logitech mouse with a bluetooth dongle. You can connect up to eight devices on one dongle I think, and I've already got a wireless Logitech mouse that uses a dongle just like that but I've lost it when I moved. So if I buy a cheap mouse that use a dongle like that, I can just connect the keyboard to the Mac Mini and used it whenever I wanted.

I need a screen to use the server on of course, and I'm getting a Cinema Display as soon as possible, so I'm going to wall mount my current monitor. I already have a tv table with a shelve, so maybe I'm going to put the Mac Mini on that shelve, with the mouse and keyboard on top of the table, so it isn't in my way when I'm working at my desk, but I can easily access it.

So this was it for my post, I hoped you liked it. As I said before I need to do a lot of research, and if I have something worthy to write a post about, I'm surely going to do it. Thanks for reading!

My top 5 games

Hello and welcome to a  new post, in this post I will write about my top 5 of games. So let's start.

5. Minecraft.
My first favorite game on place 5 is Minecraft, why? just because this was the first game I ever played and it is still a game that I play. Also minecraft is a good way to make some friends and play with other people, when I started with playing minecraft there wasn't a multiplayer option, but now about 3 years later there is a multiplayer option and I really like that.

4. RainBow Six Vegas.
Rainbow six vegas has my 4th place, just because I like this game, I like the story of it.
In rainbow six vegas you are a commando and you have to clear some missions alone or with your team, I really like this game because when I was younger I really liked commandos and military things.
The missions are nice made and there are some missions with a Hard difficult, but there are also some missions with a lower difficult and that is what I like of this game.

3. GTA San Andreas.
GTA San Andreas was the first game I played of the GTA series, I like this game because it is a classic one.
The world of GTA San Andreas I also really like, this is Los Santos, I really like the 3 islands and the game itself has a nice story line for that time, when I look back on that story line now I think, what the hell they are doing, it's for this time not nice because it's a bit old.
The main character CJ I really like because this is the uncle of my favorite character of GTA V ''Franklin''.

2. Call Of Duty Black Ops II.
Call of Duty Black ops II gets the second place on my list of favorite games, because it is an awesome game and I like the story mode and the multiplayer mode, Only this game has much hackers and that is a negative point of the game, but beside that it is a really nice game and I played this for a long time.
Also I really like this game because it is a shooter and of course teenage boy likes shooter games and FPS games.
The game mode with bots is very useful to train your skills. also it is an easy way to play with friends in the same team and that is what I really like.

1. Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5)
GTA 5 is my most favorite game and this is because I really like the story mode with 3 different characters, also the hidden missions and hidden things as ''the ghost of mount Gordo'' and the ''Space car'', that are really nice things to play for and it is awesome when you have found the solution of the mystery and that gives an awesome look to the game.
The GTA Online I really like, only the servers if the game are sometimes a little bit laggy and that is a negative point of it, but beside that it is an awesome game with nice features and a really nice story mode.

So I hope you have enjoyed this post, now you know my  Top 5 games and I hope you will read my next post too.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 vs CF-30

Hello guys and welcome at another post, today I'm going to do a battle between two Panasonic Tougbooks, so lets get started!

For people who don't know what Toughbooks are, they are rugged laptops. They are very strong, and are almost indestructible. If you spill your drink on it, it won't be a problem. If it falls of your desk, it isn't a problem. If you accidentally decide to jump on it, it won't be a problem. But I own two models, so I had the possibility to test them both and I have to admit, they are great machines. As the name says, they are both tough. I did the same tests with both of them, but from what I experienced with them, they are both equal in strength.

So lets start with the CF-29, its not very powerful, but its useful for most things. There is one huge disadvantage however, the drivers aren't complete on Windows 7, for example: My sound doesn't work because of the driver. You can force the computer to run older drivers, but this doesn't always work with my experience. I really like the design of the lid, its much more detailed than the lid of the CF-30 and it has an antenna. My CF-29 has an Intel Pentium M (Centrino) 1.60 GHz, 1GB of RAM and a 8 GB hard drive. These specs are pretty worthless by todays standard, I mean a computer from around 300 euro's is faster than my Toughbook in almost every way, but of course not every notebook is rugged. I really like the laptop in every way and all tough I don't use it all the time, its just fun to play around with them.

The CF-30 is a lot more powerful compared with the CF-29, and most models are equipped with a touchscreen, that works with your fingers but its just better to use the stylus. Mine has a 1.60 GHz Intel Centrino processor, and a backlighted keyboard so the keys are very easy to see in the dark. It is a lot quicker that my Toughbook CF-29. They are more expensive of course, but they are more powerful. I don't really know the specs of the graphics card, but I do know that is uses integrated graphics, and it works fine for your everyday work. I may have mentioned it in my other posts before, but the hard drive has heating elements in in, which heat up the hard drive first before it powers up the computer. The same for the LCD panel so the computer is very useable in cold weather conditions. A thing that I really like about the CF-30, and the CF-29 is that its completely fan less, so its very silent. And if you stick a SSD into the hard drive caddy it just doesn't make a sound at all.

So if you want a cheaper Toughbook, I would recommend getting the CF-30. I mean its more expensive than the CF-29 but its faster, and most of the drivers are still supported with Windows 7. If your looking for a laptop and just wanted to buy a Toughbook just because they look cool, I won't recommend getting one. You can get laptops with the same specs for less money, but if price isn't important to you, get one because they look really beast on your setup!

I hoped you learned something of this post, if you own a Toughbook, let me know what you like about it. Thanks for reading!

Do you need a powerful computer?

Hello guys and welcome at another post, a lot of people aren't sure which computer they should buy, do you need a powerful computer or not? Lets find out.

A high end computer is very expensive, and most people can't afford one, so do you really need one? If you want to play games on your pc I would defenitly recommend a highend or gaming pc. High end pc's are a very wide range. You can buy them for around 700 euro's untill 12000 euro's and maybe more. So if you're a games and you like to play with nice quality, or if you really use Photoshop for a job I would buy a high end pc. It costs a little more, but it makes your work a lot easier.

If you're buying a computer, be sure to know what you want to do with it. Do you want to edit some text in Word processing program or do you want to do something like photo editing? A lot of people say that you need a very powerful computer when you want to start photo editing, and this is actually true, but it depends what you're editing. If Photoshop is just you're hobby then you won't need a very powerful computer, butjust a mid-range computer with lets say an Intel Core i3 and Intel HD Graphics 4400. Of course its not a powerful beast, but its very useful to photo edit and video editing if your doing it as a hobby.

A lot of people don't need a very powerful computer because they only use their computer for surfing the web, using Word or an equil program so they don't need a lot of power. And so I would go for a low end computer. In the Netherlands, low end computers are around 400 euro's so if you only use your computer for ligter tasks don't buy a gaming or high end pc because its going to save you a lot of money. You can also buy a mid range computer if you want, because its nice to have a quick and snappy computer, because with a midrange computer you could do anything you want. You can play lighter games, do some photo editing on it, and that sort of stuff.

If I had to buy a new computer I would go for a medium range computer, sure I would like to have a powerful, but I don't really need the power right now. And until I am going to follow a study in graphics design, I'm not going to waste my money on a computer with a lot of power that I don't really need.

So I hoped this post was useful to you, thanks for reading!

Mac Pro

Hello and welcome to a new post, in this post I will tell you something about the specs of the Mac Pro and of course I give my opinion about it, I tried this PC in a Mediamarkt shop in my city.
The Mac Pro has a great looking of the outside, I really like the ''cylinder'' shape and I really like the black glossy color of it. The specs of this Mac Pro is also very nice, its awesome, this is a real Macintosh Gaming and heavy editing Pc,  one negative point, but this is for all macs, you can't play games on it, just because the most of the macs hasn't got a DVD driver and that sucks for me, because I will a Pc also use for gaming and not only for editing.

The outside looks a bit as a trash, because the cylinder shape of it, but beside that it is a really nice Pc, This are the specs of the cheapest standard model of it:

  • 3.7GHz quad-core with 10MB of L3 cache
  • 12GB (3x4GB) of 1866MHz DDR3 ECC
  • 256GB PCIe-based flash storage
  • Dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM each
  • User's Guide (English)
As you can see on the specs the cheapest model is also a real beast.

This was my post about the Apple Mac Pro, I hope you have enjoyed and I hope you will read my next post too.

Setup Update!?

Hello and welcome to a new post, in this post I will tell you a new update about my setup, It isn't updated yet, but I will update it soon.
What I will update is my desktop PC from 2009 for a new good laptop, why? with a Laptop I can travel easy and work easy on other places, also the most of the new laptops have a better CPU than my current PC. That is the reason, but now I'm doubt, which laptop shall I buy, I'm thinking about a good gaming laptop of 900€ or a normal laptop of around 600€, I think the second choice because I don't need a very powerful laptop because I don't game much, and when I game I will game on my PS3.
HP Pavilion 15-p142nd - Laptop Maybe I want to buy a new Desktop, but I need a good laptop for my study in the future, so maybe I can better buy a good laptop so I have a new one and I have one for my study.

The laptop I'm thinking about is a HP Pavilion 15-p142nd, this is a Gaming laptop of HP and is around the €600,- and that is where I'm searching for.
This laptop has a AMD A10 5745M APU 2.1GHz Quad-core processor, a AMD Radeon R7 M260 2GB graphic card and 12GB ram, so it has enough power for gaming and for photoshop/video editing.
The laptop looks really nice, I think and it has nice screen resolution of 15.6'' and that is big enough for me.
With this laptop I will work with an extra screen because that is really useful for editing and also for gaming, so I can set my skype on the laptop screen and the game on my other screen.

I hope you have enjoyed this post, I hope you will also read my next post and I will thank you guys for the 1000 views this month. :D
I uploaded today twice because I was sick last Monday.

1000 views just this month, thanks!

Asus N751JK

Hello and welcome to a new post, in this post I will tell you something about the Asus N751JK-T7130H, I don't have this laptop, but I tell you guys my opinion about it and I tell you the specs of this Laptop.

The Asus N751JK-T7130H is a very nice Laptop with an i7 processor and 16GB ram, this is a very useful laptop for photoshop and video editing, also is this of course a perfect laptop for normal things as internet, also you can game with this laptop because it has a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850 2GB DDR3.
This are all the specifications of the Laptop:

  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4710HQ 2,5 GHz Quad-core
  • 16 GB RAM
  • screen resolution 17.3''
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850 2GB DDR3
  • Hard Disk 1TB
  • SSD 256GB
  • Windows 8.1

So as you can see on the picture it has a grey color in the inside and the screen has a black color. the outside of it has a nice looking dark grey color.

The reviews of this laptop are very good, but some people doesn't like the size of it, because 17.3'' is quite big. I like that size because you haven't got to work with a extra screen, because I'm used to a 29'' screen, so when I work with my laptop I almost always connect my screen with my laptop because the size of it and with a 17.3'' screen I don't need a extra screen.

This was my post about this asus laptop, I hope you have enjoyed this post and I hope you will also read my next post.

Which computer do you need?

Hello guys, and welcome at another blogpost, some people don't know which computer they should buy, so lets find out!

The most important thing is to ask yourself, so I need a desktop or a laptop? Well that depends, for what to you want to use your computer? Are you travelling a lot, if you do, I should defenitly go for the laptop because its nice to have all your files with you when you're away from home. If you want a desktop, but need a laptop, you can buy an external monitor, mouse and keyboard and just connect them to your laptop. You will het the desktop experience, but if you need to leave, you can just grab your laptop and leave.

If you don't need a laptop, just don't buy one, unless you really want to because desktops are more easy to repair, and to upgrade. Mostly desktops have more power because there is more space for a bigger processor, GPU and motherboard. They do take a lot of space in your room, but if you're managing everything nice, and find a nice spot for your desktop it would't really be a problem.

The OS is very important for a lot of people, and there are 4 more known operating systems. Chrome, Windows, OS X and Linux (mostly Ubuntu). You can buy a Chromebook, but keep in mind, they aren't really powerful machines. With a Chromebook its al based on cloudstorage, so most Chromebooks only have 16 gb or 32 gb of internal storage. You can of course buy a Mac, but the cheapest is the Mac Mini for 499 euro's. So if you're on  a tight budget I would buy a PC, because you can get low end PC's for around 300 euro's in the Netherlands. And if you want Ubuntu, you can just download the operating system from their website free of charge, burn it on a disc, or put it on a pendrive and just install it.

Hoped you liked this post, Thanks for reading!

OS X Tiger vs Windows XP

Hello guys and welcome at a comparism of two operating systems. We're going to do a versus battle between Windows XP and OS X Tiger.

OS X Tiger
OS X Tiger runs really reliable, and the software that is still supported for it runs great, but there is one huge downpoint to OS X Tiger. Its not supported, so a lot of apps aren't available anymore. Even Skype isn't available for OS X Tiger. I really like OS X Tiger, and I've used it for years, so I have quite a lot of experience with the operating system, but if you're using a Mac with Tiger as your daily driver, I would highly recommend you to get an upgrade, so you can use the newest applications again.

Lets move on to websurfing. Its a disaster, a lot of websites give you something like this message: Your browser is not supported, please upgrade your web browser. Or something like that, and its so irritating, because some people don't even want to upgrade their operating system or computer, but well Tiger is very old now, you can see by this example: New computers are running OS X 10.10 Yosemite, PowerPC Macs are running 10.5 Leopard, 10.4 Tiger or lower.

Windows XP
Compared to OS X Tiger, Windows XP is very useable, Google Chrome is supporting Windows XP untill the end of 2015, maybe longer. A lot of computergames are still supporting Windows XP, and you can download a lot of programs on it that are really useable. Its just like Windows 7, but older, and alltough Windows XP lost support in April last year, it still works really nice after a year. I'm defenitly going to upgrade to Windows 7 at the end of this year, and I already have the instalation CD, but I just don't feel like it because Windows XP is doing fine, and I really like using it. And the funnest part is, it brings up old memories, because my first operating system was Windows XP.

So I think we all know that Tiger is really reliable but it lost support years ago, and a lot of programs aren't available for it anymore. Windows XP on the otherhand lost support just last year, and alltough thats a huge amount of time in the tech world, it still works fine, and a lot of the newest apps are still supporting Windows XP. So if you've got Windows XP, and want to upgrade, sure its possible, but you can easily wait a month or three doing it. If you've got OS X Tiger, I would highly recommend you to upgrade, to enjoy the best websites without irritating messages which are saying: Your webbrowser isn't supported.

Blue Yeti multipart USB condenser microphone

Hallo and welcome to a new post, in this post I will tell you my opinion about the Blue Yeti and I will tell something about it.

My opinion about the Blue Yeti: I like this microphone, but looks in my eyes very ugly because it is so massive and I didn't like that, but beside that it is a real nice microphone and the sound is also very good.
The Blue Yeti is a USB condenser microphone with studio quality and it has a great sound. The microphone has a stand and on this stand you can change the position of the microphone.

The Blue Yeti is the most advanced and versatile USB microphone with multiple recording patterns. The combination of three microphone elements and four different recording patterns, the Yeti is a perfect tool for making all kinds of recordings of a meeting, vocals, duets, a group of musicians or podcasting.
The Blue Yeti has to send over an analog-to-digital converter of a high technical level of 48 kHz / 16-bit to the recorded signal very faithful sound directly to your computer. beside the Yeti has a built-in headphone amplifier so you can monitor the sound lag free and the volume is controlled with a dial on the Blue Yeti. Also to operate a mute button and the recording power on the housing of the microphone itself.
The Blue Yeti can be characterized by a low distortion, balanced frequency response and accurate reproduction of the recorded sound. The Yeti is easy to connect; no need to install drivers, just connect the microphone via the USB connection.

This was my post about the blue yeti, I hope it was a useful one and I hope you will read my next post too.

Adobe Photoshop CS5

Hello and welcome to a new post, in this post I will tell you something about Adobe Photoshop and my opinion about it.
First I will start with my opinion about it, I really like it because it works very nice and  it is easy to learn, also  you can do almost everything with it, you can make the craziest thing with it and I really like that.
Adobe Photoshop is as the names also says a Photoshop program/software. I work with it for the fun, but I will work more with it in the future.
As you can see on the picture you can change the colors and you can make nice looking banners, wallpapers and background stuff.

I make much backgrounds and wallpapers, because I like it to work with 3D letters and I like it to have a nice looking own made background so I can say to people: ''look at this, I have made it by myself''. and I haven't to say to people: ''Look at this, I found it on the internet''.
This background you see on the picture I have made it by myself. and I really like it.

My thoughts about the MacBook

Hey guys, and welcome at another post,

Today I am going to give my opinion about the new MacBook, because a lot of people say that they really are Facebook machines, but they aren't. Yeah, sure its not as powerful as a MacBook Pro, or even a MacBook Air, but it is a fairly powerful machine. The Intel Core M processor is a proper laptop processor, but its just using less power than lets say an Intel Core i5. The MacBook is thinner than the MacBook Pro, so there isn't much room for a big battery, so they had to choose a less power consuming processor.

I really love the facts that its fan less, the computer literally has no fans in it, so you don't have that irritating fan noise, I really like that about this laptop. The trackpad is awesome, I didn't have to opportunity to test the laptop myself, but from what I've seen and watched, they removed the click thats in the trackpad and replaced it with the Force Touch trackpad, this means that if you if you click on the trackpad, it vibrates and this is the same feeling as an actual click that you've got on the older models from the MacBook line-up.

So I think its clear that I really like this laptop, and yes, its a bit underpowered but its not a Facebook machine. I would definitely buy it if I could miss the money, but to people are looking for a MacBook I wouldn't choose this one because you'll have an entry model MacBook Pro for the same price.

So thanks for reading, and if you have a different opinion, leave a comment!

Panasonic Toughbook CF-30

Hello guys, and welcome at a full review of the Panasonic Toughbook CF-30.

Its a rugged laptop, made from magnesium and rubber. Its fanless so if you're working in a dusty area its very nice, because you won't have to problem of dust and sand in your fans. The hard drive sits in a caddy with heating elements so if you're working in cold envirement its very handy so you're hard drive is heated up before your laptop starts working. The magnesium body means that its basically indestructible. If you search on Youtube Panasonic Toughbook there are enough challanges to find. The full magnesium body, and the stability of the laptop comes at a price, its, expensive of course, but thats not what I'm talking about. Its very thick, and heavy. Its 3 kilograms, thats around 6 or 7 pounds.

I really like the laptop, I don't own it, but my dad does, so I've tested it, and I really liked the touchscreen. I don't see how this is useful for me, but its nice to have it and after calibrating it, it works really nice actually. The keyboard is very comfortable, and its backlight. I know that isn't anything special, but its a nice feature to have in my opinion. There isn't much difference between the CF-29 and the CF-30 on the outside. The handle is a bit different, and the top is a bit different, but there basically the same from the outside. So if you're looking to buy a Toughbook yourself, be sure to choose the right model number, because there is even difference between the model numbers. For example: Toughbook CF-29 MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4 and MK5, with the CF-29 the difference is the processor speed mainly, with the CF-30 I'm not sure.

So I reviewed all the Toughbook laptops that I own. Hope you've liked this post. Thanks for reading!

More plans for my Mac Mini project (Part 2)

Hello guys, and welcome at another post.

Today I'm going to talk about some more plans for my Mac Mini server project. So I was thinking, I was searching for some things in my garage, until I found an Antec case, its
a media case, and it has already two fans it, so I was thinking if I could mount the hard drives in the hard drive mounts, and get the fans working.

I need to do some research about it, but I think its a very cool idea to create a server out of an old Antec case. If I could just safely mount the Mac Mini so it doesn't move in the case. I'm going g to hang some shelves in the office so if it isn't to heavy I'll maybe able to put the case on the shelve.

I did some thinking about the OS, and I'm going to put Leopard on it very soon. With Leopard the OS is very familiar to me, so that's the reason I'm going to do it using Leopard. My plan was to keep the setup as clean as possible so I'm not going to have an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard. I'm going to do everything using screenshare, this is an option that's build into a Mac, so it should be very easy to set everything up.

I'm going to do some research about the Antec case, because it would look so cool to have a Mac Mini as a server in a dedicated case. I think the next part is uploaded at the beginning of next week. Thanks for reading!

Mac Mini project

Hello guys, and welcome at another post.

Today I want to talk about my Mac Mini, if you've read my setup post you'll maybe know a little more about my Mac Mini but there has been a change of plans. I'm going to use it as a server again, I've got a Toughbook now, so I can use that as a second computer, and maybe even for guests. I'm going to build a small place underneath my desk, and its going to be like a sort of cabinet. I'm going to buy some fans that go into a regular pc, but instead I'm cutting holes in the top and side of the cabinet, and screw those fans in those hols to keep the server nice and cold.

I'm going to install OS X 10.5.8 Leopard on it, and connect it to the internet using an Airport Extreme because the Airport card in the Mac Mini is broken. I'm going to buy an external CD/DVD player/burner from eBay and 2 terabytes of external storage for the Mini. I think the whole setup for the server is finished in a month or something. So if you're curious about that, sure to check our blog soon again because I'm probably going to post more information about it, and the products I've need for it.

What do I prefer? A good Desktop PC or a good laptop

Hello and welcome to a new post, in this post I will tell you what I prefer, a Good desktop PC or a good laptop. also I will say sorry because I didn't upload yesterday, because I was sick.

This is a really easy question, I prefer of course a good desktop, just because you can run heavier programs and its faster than a laptop.
But if I can buy a good laptop with a 17'' screen I do that. because a laptop is portable, and that is very easy for school, but also for my future job.
Which laptop do I prefer? the Macbook of course, but a macbook isn't available at a 17'' screen so that is maybe a bit unfortunate.

The desktop PC I want is an Acer predator, just because its a nice looking PC and it is a beast of a PC, a friend of mine has a Acer Predator, and he can play almost every game with high settings. So as you can see on the picture it has a nice looking case. These are the specifications of the €900,- version of this PC:

  • processor: Intel core i5-4460 quad core 3.2GHz
  • 8GB Ram
  • SSD 120GB
  • Hard Drive 1TB
  • AMD Radeon R9 255 2GB
  • Windows 8.1

As you can see the specifications are very nice and that makes this a great PC.

Thank you for reading this post, and I hope you will also read my next post.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-29

Hey guys, and welcome at another post.

Today I want to talk about my new laptop. Its a rugged laptop called the Panasonic Toughbook CF-29. The one I've bought is a little underpowered, but the keyboard works very well actually, it takes some time to get used to but after a while it types really nice.

Unlike the CF-30 model that my dad has, the CF-29 does not have a backlighted keyboard, and the keyboard doesn't have thin keys. Its running a 1.60 Pentium M (Centrino) and has 1.5 gigabytes of RAM. As I said before its a bit underpowered, but I don't need a very powerful machine. I'm going to install Photoshop CS3, and Windows XP. I'm going to install Windows XP becuase its lighter. Its running Windows 7, but the only problem with it are the drivers. Some drivers aren't available for Windows 7, so the speakers don't work, and the media keys aren't working to. When I've installed Windows XP on the laptop, this problem should be solved because the laptop originally shipped with Windows XP.

If you're a follower of my blog you probably know that I have a MacBook from 2008, but actually I'm only using it on my desk and I'm traveling short distances with it. I'm going to Hungary next year, and to Paris in October, so that's one of the reasons why I've bought this laptop. Its very strong because of the magnesium body. Its also water, dust and drop free. If you search on YouTube, you can see that a Chevy Impala is driving over it, and steering on it and after the test the laptop is still working. The screen isn't broken, the keyboard works, so they're basically indestructible.

My dad has a Panasonic CF-30 so I'm going to do a review on that laptop very soon. Thanks for reading!

Panasonic Toughbook

Hello guys, and welcome at a very unusual post,

Today I want to talk about my newest laptop computer. The Panasonic Toughbook CF-30. Its a rugged laptop, thats used to work at construction places, and at the field. Its dust, water and vibration proof. It has a Intel Centrino processor in it, and 1 gigabyte of RAM. I am going to upgrade the RAM, because I want to do some work on it, but I'll keep my MacBook as my daily driver.

It has a handle to carry it around, because the laptop is seven pounds, or around three kilograms. Its made from magnesium, and has plastic caps around the ports to make it really water and dust proof. I really love the design, its very different from your average laptop, and not a lot of people have a rugged notebook in their house. It has a little antenna for the bluetooth and wifi signal. The laptop is out of magnesium, so if the antenna is very handy to get a stronger signal. In my opinion the keyboard is really nice. It shipped originally with Windows XP, but I'm buying it with a clean install of Windows 8.1 but I'm downgrading to Windows 7 or Windows XP until I have bought 4 gigabytes of RAM.

I'm going to write a full review on the Panasonic Toughbook, so if you're curious it will be uploaded Tuesday I think. Thanks for reading!

My Laptop Dell latitude E6400

Hello and welcome to a new post, in this post I will tell you something about my laptop.

My laptop is a Dell Latitude E6400, it is a really nice laptop for its age, it is a laptop from 2009. This laptop has a Core 2 Duo CPU clocked at 2.4 GHz, 4GB ram and 250GB hard drive, this laptop runs Windows 7. This was my second laptop, and I bought it because it wasn't very expensive and I needed a good laptop for school and I hadn't a big budget.
I really like this laptop, because I can do almost everything and it is portable, so I can carry it with me when I go to friends or family, also I can carry it to school when I need it.
Maybe I will download the os X software for this laptop, so I can learn how os X exactly works.

Also when this laptop runs with os X I can run software for apple products.

This was a short post a bout my laptop, I don't know what I can tell more about it, so I hope this was a good post and I hope you also will read my next post and my past posts.

My setup

Hello guys, and welcome at another post.

I want to talk about my setup, but its going to change very quickly around October. And why am I doing this post now, well I'm so excited for it, and I have to do a lot of research and savings. I maybe get the opportunity to create my own home office in October, at least that what he says. I'm going to put a large 2 meter desk right in front of a nice big window, with a nice light wood colored top, and I'm going to put my 23 inch Apple Cinema Display, and my MacBook on a nice aluminum stand, in a corner, so I have about 1.20 meters of space to set up another computer.

That computer is going to be my Mac Mini G4. I'm not sure about which operating systems I'm going to put on there, I'm thinking about Ubuntu and Leopard. Its probably going to be Ubuntu because its free, and is very light, and if you do it right compatible with a G4 computer. I want to use my G4 because its small, is in great shape, and you can hide it very easy for a clean setup. I'm thinking of buying a Apple Cinema Display 20 inch for the Mac Mini, because you can get those very cheap from eBay, and they match very nice with the Mac Mini. I'm going to buy a wired Apple keyboard and Mighty mouse as well. I'm probably going to use this computer as a quest computer, because my twin brother visits me a lot, and I want to make a workplace for him, without him buying a new computer.

I'm also going to buy another desk from about 1.50 meters, for my dad, so he can work there as well, and for other guests who are bringing there own laptop. I'm very excited about this, and I'm going to keep you guys updated about everything. I'm going to do a lot of research first, and if I really get the opportunity to create a real home office in October, I will go start ordering, and buying all my stuff.

Thanks for reading everyone, I will put a quick design of the room in the next post, because I'm going to post every bit of progress I make online!

Do yo need to upgrade to 4K?

Hello guys, and welcome back at another post,

Today I want to talk about the difference between 4K and 1080P resolution, and do you need to upgrade.

Almost everybody has a Full HD television these days, I don't know anyone who hasn't, and 4K is on the market for not a very long time actually. A lot of people want to upgrade, and if you can afford to upgrade, do it. 4K looks really nice, it looks a lot better than Full HD and you can notice the difference easily. If you're struggling to get the money for a 4K television, or just can't afford it, simply just don't do it. Full HD looks fine to, and for the people who use a television for actually watching television, you're not going to need the upgrade. Almost every cable company in the Netherlands isn't supporting 4K, and most movies aren't shot in 4K either, so unless you're a huge gamer, and like to game in 4K its not worth the upgrade in my opinion.

I'm a huge gamer, and I want to upgrade, but I'm not going to do it because 4K televisions are just so expensive, and my Full HD television works great and delivers very nice picture quality. I'm definitely going to upgrade next year, or maybe even in two years. It depends, is 4K really useable for most things or not, when it is I'm going to upgrade.

I hoped you liked this post, if you did leave a +1. And what is your opinion about 4K televisions, if you want you can leave a comment. Thanks for reading!

My opinion about the Macbook Pro and the Macbook Air.

Hello and welcome to a new post, in this post I will give you guys my opinion about the Macbook Pro and the Macbook Air.
I will start with the Macbook Pro, just because this is the Macbook I will order in the future,
I really like the Macbook Pro, it's fast, looks good and it is with Retina Display. Also you can easily carry it with you, and also it has a beautiful outside, and that is in my eyes also important, because you don't buy a expensive thing that looks ugly.

The Macbook Air is also good, but it isn't a real work Laptop, you can't run some edit programs smoothly and that is what I actually need for my study, also I will pay around the €400,- more for a Macbook pro than €400,- less for a Macbook Air.
Also when you buy a Macbook Pro ''13  for €1400,- you have also Retina Display and with a Macbook Air ''13 for €1000,- you don't have a Retina Display.

I hope this was a nice post, now you know my opinion about this Macbook's, I hope you will read my next post too, and maybe, when you're new you can also read our past posts.

Mechanical keyboards

Mechanical keyboards:

Today I am going to talk about mechanical keyboards I did a post a few days ago about ergonomic  keyboards or mechanical keyboards, and I’ve made my decision.  I’m going for a mechanical keyboard because they look really simple, and I think we can all admit that the shape of an ergonomic keyboard is a bit odd.

So mechanical it is, and I choose for it because I would love to have a keyboard with a kind off response when you press a key, and I really like the click sound from the Cherry MX Blue switches. I’m really like to buy two models. A Das keyboard and a CM Storm. I would really like to own a Das keyboard because I’ve read very positive reactions about them, because almost everybody that has purchased them are really positive about them. The CM Storm keyboard has backlight, and that’s really important for me, because once in the two weeks, mij twin brother is coming to me, and he doesn’t have his own room at the place where I live so if I have backlighting, I could just switch off the lights in my room, and still being able to see my keys.

Maybe you’ve noticed that I haven’t put the models of the keyboard in this post, the pictures are the right models, that’s because I’m not sure of my decision, but I’m going to do some more research about them and I’m going to upload a more detailed post about both of the keyboards tomorrow.
